Devin
Devin is Cognition's autonomous cloud software engineer experience: you assign work from tools like Slack, GitHub or Linear, and the agent operates in an isolated environment before opening a pull request for humans to review. Newer workflows also target incident investigation and similar ops-adjacent engineering chores where a long-running agent can gather context. It complements Devin Desktop rather than replacing local IDEs entirely—cloud agents handle the longer jobs while developers keep ownership of merges. Catalog pricing checks found bot-facing 404s on marketing URLs even when robots.txt did not disallow crawling, so treat commercial terms as needs-manual-check until confirmed in-product or via sales. Limitation: without verified public price tiles you should not budget from third-party rumors, and agent output can still be wrong or incomplete. Mandatory code review and CI remain part of the operating model.
Key features
- Cloud coding agent that returns pull requests for review
- Task intake from Slack, GitHub, Linear or desktop
- Sandbox execution for longer engineering assignments
Limitations
Public pricing is not reliably bot-readable—confirm with Cognition; agent PRs still need human review and CI checks.
