GitHub Copilot

GitHub Copilot assists software developers throughout the coding lifecycle, from drafting code in the editor to reviewing pull requests on GitHub. It offers inline completions, chat, CLI access and agent-style workflows that can take multi-step tasks, plus Copilot Code Review to comment on changes before merge. Teams adopt it when they already live in GitHub and want AI assistance without leaving VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, a desktop app or the github.com UI. A free plan exists with limited chat and agent usage; paid individual and business plans raise those limits and unlock organization controls. Limitation: free usage caps how far chat and agents can go each month, and like any coding assistant Copilot can still invent APIs or miss repository-specific conventions, so human review remains required. Enterprises should also confirm data-handling settings for their organization plan.

Key features

Limitations

Free plan only includes limited chat and agent usage; sustained agentic coding and higher limits require a paid Copilot plan.

"Not listed" means the official page shows no list price for that billing period (often contact sales). We never fill gaps from third-party sites.
